We work in an integrative and experimental way. Clear objectives are set which direct our work, we regularly review our progress, continue what’s working well and make improvements where necessary. Success is measured in changes in behaviour.

Dulwich Picture Gallery invited us to create a workshop for their Out of Frame 2, a special after hours event celebrating LGBTQI+ stories and histories in art at the gallery.
The creative workshop was born in response to a Sacha Coward article on the creation of the Out of Framed Tours. In the article he talks about upholding historical integrity, I was hooked by the idea. Traditionally history is told by the victor and museums and galleries can be part of the spoils of war, at best these are editorialised and at worst embellished recounts.
The workshop invitation was to reflect on what they’d seen on the tour and to respond creatively, in the context of claiming sovereignty and telling their own story.
We dove into
Sitter & Painter - The observation of a thing changes both the observer and the observed. Attendees were welcomed to reflect on how the act of observing art changes both the viewer and the viewed.
Symbolism & Queer Coding - What’s understood ain’t gotta be explained. Reclaiming validity by reading between the lines of historical works.
Representation Matters - What did you not see? Whose stories are prioritised and who tells the stories.
We got to put ourselves fully into history by soaking in the present and expanding our references of queer possibilities and telling our stories
